The Management of the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) has commended the Alumni Association of the University for its thoughtfulness in donating packs of bottled mineral water to support the University’s First Congregation and the Investiture of Prof. Frederick Kwaku Sarfo as the first Vice-Chancellor.

The other donors were PHINEST Enterprise, Vandatron Enteprise, Saynow Ventures, Stank Medic & Health Services, and Adjani Yin Limited. The rest were Justbest Enterprise, Zenith Bank and J-U Enterprise.

Receiving the Awake Mineral Water from the Alumni Association on behalf of the University on May 24, 2023, a Senior Assistant Registrar, Mr. Donald Kwame Asiedu, said the gesture was indicative of the Association’s willingness to contribute to the development of the University and her students.

He acknowledged that the Association was still in the infant stages of growth. To have been able to mobilise and present its widow’s mite to the University was something that the Management of the University appreciated greatly.

Mr. Asiedu assured the Association that the University would use the water to the benefit of graduands to send the right signals to them to join the Association so that the alumni will continue to support the development of the University.

To that end, he encouraged the graduands of the First Congregation to join the Alumni Association and become its active participants. Mr. Asiedu also urged the leadership of the Association to consider starting some projects on campus which will benefit to students to make the Association attractive to them.

The Vice-President of the Alumni Association, Mrs. Millicent Pimpong, was supported by the Organiser of the Association, Mr. Ebenezer Kofi Peprah, to present the water to the University. Mrs. Pimpong commended the Management of the University for working hard to bring rapid development to the University.

She was hopeful that the Association would make a significant impact on the University soon, considering the tireless efforts the leadership of the Alumni Association leadership was making to mobilise members and establish the appropriate structures to support the smooth operations of the Association. She appealed to all past students of the Kumasi and Asante Mampong Campuses, from the 1960s to date, to join the Association.

The AAMUSTED Alumni Association was inaugurated on June 11, 2022, with the support of the Management of the University. Former Ghana High Commissioner to South Africa, Mr. George Ayisi Boateng, did the official inauguration. Subsequently, a six-member leadership was elected to steer the affairs of the Association.
