Final-year Economics students from Osei Tutu Senior High School (OTSHS) in the Ashanti Region have visited Akenten Appiah-Menkah University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) to explore available programmes, facilities, and university life in preparation for their post-West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) university journey.

During the visit on May 29, 2025, the University organised an orientation, where officials from the Faculty of Business Education (FBE) and the Directorate of Academic Affairs made presentations on Academic Programmes and career opportunities at AAMUSTED for a bright future.
The students were also given a tour of facilities, including the nearly completed ultra-modern Business Incubation and Innovation Centre, e-library, workshops equipped with modern machines and tools, lecture halls, and residential accommodations on campus.
The Dean of FBE, Prof. Faisal Iddris, encouraged the students to commit themselves to hard work so they could perform excellently in the WASSCE and qualify for admission into AAMUSTED, Ghana’s Premier Public TVET and Entrepreneurial Development Teacher Education University.
He assured them that AAMUSTED is ultimately the university that guarantees a better future, offering dynamic and skill-focused training to navigate the unemployment situation in Ghana. “At AAMUSTED, we give the technical training and the entrepreneurial skills to all our students to go into self-employment and possibly employ others,” he told the students.
Other speakers at the orientation were Dr. Dr. Frank Yao Gbadago, Head of the Accounting Department; Dr. Gideon Jojo Amos, Head of the Department of Human Resource and Business Strategy; Mr. Eric Effah Sarkodie, Head of the Department of Economics; Dr. Masud Ibrahim, Head of the Department of Management; and Mr. Wat Tweneboah, Junior Assistant Registrar and representative of the Directorate of Academic Affairs.

One of the students, Mr. Michael Opoku, expressed gratitude for the warm reception that the AAMUSTED extended to them. He noted that, with the information received, there was a greater chance that AAMUSTED would be his first choice if he excelled in the WASSCE. “I do not doubt in my mind that AAMUSTED is the place where my dreams could easily come true,” he added.
Also present at the orientation were lecturers and administrators from the FBE, including Dr. Ellen Enima, Mr. Alfred B. Morrison, Mr. John Sefa, and Mrs. Victoria Wepea Weopong Awopone.
