On behalf of the Governing Council and the Management of the University, I warmly welcome all freshmen and women of the 2021/2022 academic year to the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), formerly the Kumasi and Asante Mampong Campuses of the University of Education, Winneba.

I wish to assure you that your choice of AAMUSTED for your tertiary education is one of the best decisions you would ever make because at AAMUSTED, we guarantee your success as a student and a brighter future for your life after this University.  Therefore, I wish to encourage you to quickly settle down, feel at home, and begin to maximise the numerous opportunities available at AAMUSTED.

We have some of the best-resourced laboratories and workshops to support your education. Our teaching and non-teaching staff are top-notch professionals. Feel free to contact any of them for assistance; we are all very approachable and ever-ready to support you to have the best learning experience that you could ever dream of as a student. Our support services to students are among the best in this country. We have internet access in almost every corner of this University; take advantage of it to ease your learning and aim to be the best among your peers.

The University, collaborating with the Ghana Police Service, has instituted measures to provide adequate security on campus. Nonetheless, I wish to encourage you to be conscious and alert about your safety and well-being as freshmen and women.

Our conducive atmosphere provides the opportunity to mingle and hone your talents. By this, I wish to encourage all of you who are deft in some sporting disciplines to avail yourselves of the opportunities we provide to nurture such talents into greatness to be the best.

We are organising an orientation programme for you to understand the way our University operates so that you can integrate quickly into our fraternity without stress. Please, participate fully in the various sessions of the orientation programme because each of the sessions is planned deliberately to provide you with the necessary first-hand information to enhance your life on campus and complement your total development as a beneficiary or product of tertiary education.

My dear students, ours is a world-class, socially-responsible Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and Entrepreneurial Development Teacher Education University. Ultimately, our mandate is to create employability for all to obliterate the unemployment situation in Ghana and engender a socio-economic boom in the country.

I hope that you shall devote yourselves to things that would further enhance the good image of this University and help in our quest to make her great and strong.

Congratulations on your admission into AAMUSTED.

I wish you all a happy and prosperous new year and an enjoyable stay in AAMUSTED.
