The Leadership of the Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) has called on the Management of Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), among other things, to explore ways the Association could support the development of Sports in AMMUSTED.
The Association also took advantage of the May 11, 2021 visit to seek assurances from the Management that AAMUSTED would remain a good-standing member of GUSA.
The Vice Chancellor of AAMUSTED, Prof. Frederick K. Sarfo, welcoming the guests, expressed happiness that the GUSA Executives had made such a well-intentioned visit to AAMUSTED. He said the University is already devoting ample attention to the development of sports in the hope of becoming the hub of sports talents in Ghana soon. “We know the enormous benefits that could accrue from sports to individuals, the University, and the country as a whole,” the Vice Chancellor said.
Therefore, he tasked the GUSA Executives to do whatever necessary to support the sports agenda of AAMUSTED. He also assured them that AAMUSTED would be committed to complying with all the obligations it owes to the Association.
While commending the GUSA Executives for the opportunity they have to serve the Association in such high positions, he encouraged them to be selfless and determined to push the frontiers of GUSA forward so posterity would be proud of them.
The Acting Registrar of AAMUSTED, Mr. Michael K. Adu, reiterated the University’s commitment to maintaining good standing in GUSA.
The President of GUSA, Mr. Ibrahim Tanko, asked for the full participation of AAMUSTED in all activities of GUSA. That way, he said the Association could support AAMUSTED whenever the University might need any help from GUSA.
He explained that GUSA works under the direct supervision of Vice Chancellors Ghana (VCG). Therefore, the Association’s operations are always transparent, and its leaders accountable.
Mr. Tanko expressed gratitude for the warm reception at AAMUSTED and then introduced his colleague elected executives as Dr. Dominic Otoo, Vice President; Mr. Timothy Mensah, Organizing Secretary; Mr. Asante Forkuo, Public Relations Officer; and Mr. Julious Baba Apidogo, Executive Member in Charge of Technical Affairs.

It currently boasts of modern sports courts for Volleyball, Basketball, Handball, Badminton, and Tennis. Additionally, AAMUSTED abounds with Table-Tennis Boards and standard football fields with athletic ovals.
