The Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) has hosted Business Students of the Adventist Senior High School, Bantama in Kumasi.
The final-year students numbering about 50, were on educational tour to the University. They visited the University’s lecture facilities, laboratories, workshops, and students hostels. They also had the opportunity to witness ongoing practical sessions at the workshops and joined university students for an English Lecture during their July 14, 2023 visit.
Before the campus tour, the University organised a career guidance session for the guests. The Faculty of Business Education (FBE) of AAMUSTED spearheaded the session, in which the Head of the Department for Accounting Studies, Mr. Alfred Morrison, encouraged the students to commit to working hard and seek relevant information to make informed decisions about their future in the business domain.
He said limitless opportunities for business students exist if they could work hard and also seek guidance. “Every corporate organisation and the government would always require the services of persons with relevant business acumen to flourish,” he said.
That said, he encouraged the visiting students to choose AAMUSTED as their preferred destination for their tertiary education since the University has top-notch business programmes designed deliberately to satisfy industry needs and address societal challenges.
Additionally, he assured them that students of the University would have the opportunity to train to become entrepreneurs, professional teachers, and experts in the specialisations of their choice by the time they complete a four-year bachelor’s degree in AAMUSTED. “These are opportunities you may get in AAMUSTED and not other universities,” he said.
The Acting Director of University Relations (DUR) at AAMUSTED, Mr. Michael Kofi Twum-Ampomah, introduced the history, workings, academic programmes and activities, and opportunities in the University to the students.
The Head of the Department for Business Studies at the Adventist SHS, Mr. Kwadwo Ansah, who led the trip to AAMUSTED, was grateful for the warm reception and extensive exposure the students gained by visitin the University.
He highly recommended AAMUSTED to the students, flaunting his pride as an alumnus of the University and assuring his students of the serenity and comfort of learning in AAMUSTED.
