Mr. Paul Kwasi Agyemang

An astute Chartered Accountant, Mr. Paul Kwasi Agyemang is the Chairman of the AAMUSTED Governing Council. He exudes strong leadership qualities, and has extensive experience (over 30 years of work experience as a professional accountant) in general business management, financial, accounting, and auditing functions at the highest level in industry and practice. Those followed his pursuit of training programmes in High Impart Leadership and Leading Strategic Growth and Change at Columbia Business School, New York, USA, and benefitting from Advanced Business and Financial Analysis training programmes held by Euromoney Training in London, UK.

He has been the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) from June 2018 to date. Ahead of this new position, the Chairman of the Governing Council had served in various capacities (mainly management) in several private and public organisations. Among them are National Trust Holding Company Limited (NTHC), Chief Finance Officer; Yabakus Coldstores, Accra, Chief Executive Officer; Bond Savings and Loans Ltd, General Manager, Finance and Administration;  Fidelity Bank Limited, Director of Finance; Fidelity Discount House, Financial Controller; and the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD), Chief Treasury Officer. He also worked with the Ghana Food Distribution Corporation as the General Manager, Finance and Administration; and Coppers and Lybrand (Pricewaterhouse Coppers), Audit Manager, taught as a National Service Person with Kumasi Polytechnic and as a lecturer at Zenith University College.

Mr. Agyemang is also the Chairman of the Chief Executive Officers’ Forum of the Association of Accountancy Bodies of West Africa (ABWA). He previously chaired the Council of the National Board for Professionals and Technicians Examination (NABPTEX), established by Act 492, 1994, and served on the Audit Committees of the Minerals Commission Board and the Bui Power Authority Board.
