Inspire Young Women to Reach Higher Heights – AAMUSTED Pro Vice-ChancellorThe Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), Prof. Isaac Boateng, has advocated an improvement in existing systems to create avenues that inspire young women to work harder, achieve excellence, and attain higher statuses in society.He believes that with deliberate and sincere efforts to achieve gender equality, promote women’s leadership and economic empowerment, and create room for the full participation of women in all spheres of life, women’s contributions could be key for expeditious national development.Prof. Boateng was chairing the maiden Symposium, organised by the Department of Languages Education (DLE), AAMUSTED, to promote women’s empowerment at the Kumasi Campus of the University on March 14, 2025.The event with the theme – “Beyond the Margins: Women’s Writing and the Politics of Inclusion” – was partly to commemorate the International Women’s Day. AAMUSTED Alumni Association Holds Second National CongressThe Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) Alumni Association successfully held its second National Congress at the Kumasi campus of the University on March 29, 2025.The Congress, held under the theme “Addressing Unemployment in Ghana: The Role of the AAMUSTED Alumni,” brought together over 150 members from across the country.An important highlight of the congress was the election of new leaders to steer the affairs of the Association for the next two years. It also created the opportunity to brainstorm strategies for improving the Association to be more useful to members and identify ways to support the development of AAMUSTED.The Vice-Chancellor of AAMUSTED, Prof. Frederick K. AAMUSTED Alumni Association Elects New LeadersThe Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) Alumni Association has elected new leaders to steer the affairs of the Association for the next two years.Prof. Humphrey Danso, Dean of the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) of AAMUSTED was elected the new President of the Association to climax the Second National Congress of the Association at the Kumasi Campus of the University, on March 29, 2025. He polled 144 “Yes” votes as against three (3) ‘No’ votes in an election in which he was the only candidate.Dr. George Asante, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Information Technology Education (DITE) of AAMUSTED also won the Vice-President position, beating his contender and incumbent Vice-President, Mrs. Millicent Pimpong, in the process. Dr. Asante polled 106 votes against the 41 managed by Mrs. Pimpong.The incumbent Organiser of the Association, Mr. Ebenezer Kofi Peprah maintained the position for a second consecutive term, deflecting a fierce attempt by Mr. Elijah Otis Awuni in the process by winning the Organiser election with 92 votes against Mr. Awuni’s 52 votes.The Secretary and Financial Secretary positions were annexed by Messrs. Immanuel-Best Dabie Kyeremeh and Mr. Derrick Kofi Sarpong, respectively, having contested for the positions unopposed.Prof. Danso gracefully accepted the responsibility to lead the Alumni Association, promising to work hard with the other executives to push forward the frontiers of the Association.read more>> bit.ly/AlumniElections25 ...
