The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) has donated some gadgets to MYND FM (University official radio Station) to boost the activities of the radio station and strengthen the bond between the students and the radio station.
The gadgets, estimated at GHC10,000.00, included an 11th Generation HP Pavilion Laptop Computer, Shure Wireless Microphone Systems, and some Microphone Stands. The SRC handed over the gadgets to the Management of the University on April 2, 2024, for onward transfer to the Directorate of Public Affairs (DPA) under which MYND FM operates.
Receiving the gadgets, the Registrar, Mr. Augustus Kwaw Brew, thanked the SRC Leadership for their thoughtfulness in helping to improve conditions at the radio station so it would serve them better. He was happy they invested their widow’s mite in a course beneficial to the entire University Community. The Registrar said the gesture was a testimonial to their commitment to playing their role as partners in the quest to bring development to AAMUSTED.
He assured them that the Management would continue to work to improve conditions in the University to ensure students enjoy a seamless and memorable academic life on campus. The SRC President, Mr. Prince Yaw Malba, who led other SRC Executives to present the gadgets, assured the Management that his administration was committed to working towards strengthening the peace on the students’ front in the University.
He said the SRC would rather spend their energies and resources on adding to the University rather than indulge in activities that would scuttle the gains made in the young age of the University. He was grateful to the Management for the congenial atmosphere in AAMUSTED and assured it that the SRC would continue to look for avenues to help develop the University.
In response to a request by the Acting Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Michael Kofi Twum-Ampomah, for the SRC to consider a means of sustained support to MYND FM, Mr. Malba suggested to the DPA to bring up a proposal for the SRC’s consideration.
The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Stephen Agyei Baffour, who was also present at the brief donation ceremony, said he would liaise with the students in considering the proposal if the DPA would present one in respect of how the SRC could have a more sustained way of supporting MYND FM.
Also present were the Vice Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Joseph Antwi Baafi; the Manager of MYND FM, Mr. Richmond Butler; and other SRC Executives.
