Dr. Benette Yaw Osei has over 17 years of experience in teaching, research, agripreneurship and health claims management. His areas of expertise cover Soil and Water Conservation, Climate science and mitigation, Agricultural soil evaluation, ATVET (Agricultural Technical Vocational Education Training and CBT (Competency-Based Training) facilitation. He combines professional knowledge in agriculture with socio-cultural experiences to implement rural education of both crop and animal farmers aimed at bringing positive change to the lives of the most marginalized groups in society.
As a skilled agripreneur, he has rich experience in large scale (10-50 hectares) production and management of maize, cassava, yam, vegetables (carrots, cabbage, habanero pepper, lettuce, garden eggs, tomatoes) and poultry production (turkey, broiler, layer and guinea fowl). He also coaches and facilitates programs to empower young agripreneurs. As a prolific researcher, Dr. Benette Yaw Osei has authored agricultural course modules and several publications on soil and water conservation, Soil Physics and hydrology, soil carbon stocks, ecophysiology, smart agriculture, and sustainable agriculture.
He has a track record for volunteerism, good interpersonal skills, self-motivation, versatility, good leadership, and target oriented. He also has extensive experience in Ghana’s electoral Commission as a temporary staff where he has worked as a presiding officer and deputy returning officer. He is good at applying ICT in every aspect of his work and can communicate effectively in three languages (English, Twi, and Hausa).
