I hold a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Science Education from the University of Cape Coast, which I completed in 2023. Before that, I earned a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Science Education with a focus on chemistry from the University of Education, Winneba in 2012, and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in science, specializing in chemistry, from the University of Cape Coast from 2003 to 2007. Additionally, I have a Certificate in Business Administration from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), obtained in 2011, and a Teachers Certificate ‘A’ from Komenda College of Education, which I completed in 2000.Currently, I am a lecturer at Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), a position I have held since 2021. Prior to this, I worked for 14 years at Akrokerri College of Education as a chemistry tutor (Principal Tutor), and head of the chemistry unit. My teaching experience also includes instructing technical skills and mathematics at the Junior High School (JHS) level at the University of Cape Coast.
My research interests centre on instructional design, science curriculum, and the challenges students encounters in science education, particularly in chemistry. I utilize various research approaches, including design-based research, mixed methods, and ethnographic studies, to develop effective teaching strategies that enhance students’ conceptual understanding and engagement in science. Through my work, I aim to contribute positively to the educational landscape and support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
