About the Project

The NEPS (Navigating Educational Pressures and Stressors) Project is a 42-month, multi-country initiative funded by the Science for Africa Foundation’s Being Initiative. Operating across Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Tanzania, NEPS aims to improve youth mental health through integrated research, youth engagement, and evidence-based interventions. The project uses interdisciplinary approaches—including social science, biomarker analysis, and community-based research—to explore how poverty, stigma, and academic pressure shape adolescent wellbeing.

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and technically strong Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) Lead to oversee the NEPS project’s regional MEAL framework. The successful candidate will drive strategic learning, ensure high-quality data systems, and support adaptive decision-making across the consortium.

Key Responsibilities

·      Design and maintain the project’s results framework and theory of change.

·      Develop MEAL tools, dashboards, and reporting templates.

·      Consolidate MEAL data and generate quarterly and annual reports.

·      Lead learning sessions with WP leads and contribute to adaptive management.

·      Build capacity of in-country M&E teams and conduct data quality assessments.

·      Ensure inclusion of accountability mechanisms for youth and community feedback.

Required Qualifications and Experience

·      Master’s degree in Public Health, Statistics, Development Studies, or a related field.

·      Minimum 5 years’ experience in MEAL roles within international or multi-country projects.

·      Strong experience with donor compliance, performance indicators, and logframes.

·      Proficiency with M&E tools such as Excel, Power BI, DHIS2, and KoboToolbox.

·      Excellent analytical, facilitation, and reporting skills.

·      Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.

·      Commitment to ethics, safeguarding, and youth-centred evaluation.

·      Willingness to travel regionally (up to 20% of time).

Remuneration

Competitive monthly remuneration based on experience and institutional policy.

About the Project

NEPS (Navigating Educational Pressures and Stressors) is a 42-month multi-country research and intervention programme focused on youth mental health in Ghana, Sierra Leone, and Tanzania. It is supported by the Science for Africa Foundation under the Being initiative. NEPS brings together academic and community institutions to generate evidence and promote youth mental wellbeing across multiple sectors.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Administrative and Compliance Assistant to join our NEPS Project Coordination Unit. This full-time position will provide administrative support to all research teams (work packages) and support the day-to-day implementation of the coordination unit. The successful candidate will combine strong administrative skills with an understanding of research ethics, compliance protocols, and logistical coordination in a multi-country project environment.

Key Responsibilities

·      Manage documentation, digital filing systems, and internal records.

·      Schedule meetings, draft agendas, take minutes, and track follow-ups.

·      Support ethics submissions, IRB documentation, and safeguarding compliance.

·      Assist in procurement tracking, logistics planning, and report preparation.

·      Maintain communication with country teams and project stakeholders.

·      Coordinate travel, reimbursements, and event logistics.

Required Qualifications and Experience

·      Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Management, Public Health, or related field.

·      At least 3 years of relevant experience in administrative or compliance roles.

·      Familiarity with research ethics and institutional protocols.

·      Proficient in Microsoft Office and documentation tools.

·      Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

·      Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

·      Ability to prioritise tasks, maintain confidentiality, and work independently.
