Thousands of students freshly enrolled in postgraduate, degree, diploma, and certificate programmes at the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), for the 2025/2026 academic year, have undergone an orientation programme to facilitate their early settling and integration into the University community.

The four-day programme, held from January 7–10, 2026, was organised at the university-wide, faculty, and departmental levels to ensure that the fresh students received adequate information to make life comfortable for them in the new environment.

Some of the key topics covered during the orientation included Academic Rules and Regulations/Services, Library Services, Medical Examination and Health Services, Guidance and Counselling Services, Connecting with AAMUSTED on social media, Domestic Fire Outbreak Prevention, Recreation and Sports, and Accessing Student Loans.

Other topics were Creating a Conducive Environment for Teaching and Learning, Procedures for Paying Facility User Fees, Student’s Security and Welfare, and Channels of Communication in the University.

The Vice-Chancellor of AAMUSTED, Prof. Frederick Kwaku Sarfo, officially welcomed the students and expressed happiness at the large number of people who had selected AAMUSTED over other tertiary institutions. He assured them that their decision would prove to be the best they would ever make, and announced several measures the University had put in place to guarantee them a fulfilling teaching and learning experience in AAMUSTED.

He highlighted the history and mandate of the University and emphasised the need to work hard at achieving AAMUSTED’s aims to trigger an upward surge in job creation to reduce unemployment in the country.

That, he said, explains the strong commitment of the Governing Council, Management, and the Staff of the University, to hard work to excel on all spheres of life of the University. In that regard, Prof. Sarfo urged the fresh students to also remain disciplined and devote themselves to things that would further enhance the growing positive image of the University.
