Newly appointed Deans of Faculty, Directors, and Heads of Department at the University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (USTED) have attended a day’s capacity-building workshop. It was designed to equip them with integrated set of knowledge, skills, and the attitudes necessary to discharge their responsibilities effectively and efficiently in advancing the mandate of the University.

The workshop, organised by the Human Resource Directorate of USTED, on March 10, 2026, was under the theme – ‘Becoming an Excellent Academic and Administrative Leader.’

Celebrated experts including Dr. Emmanuel O. Agyenim-Boateng, Human Resource Practitioner, University Administrator and Teacher;  Prof. Harrison Dapaah, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR); Prof. Francis Ohene Boateng, Dean of Student Affairs at USTED; and Dr. Isaac Marfo Oduro, Acting Director of Internal Audit representing Director of Finance at USTED, respectively made engaging, informative, and thought-provoking presentations on carefully selected topics.

Opening the workshop, the Vice-Chancellor of USTED, Prof. Frederick Kwaku Sarfo, highlighted some challenges the University was working seriously to overcome and charged the new appointees to make a meaningful impact through their productivity to transform the University during their tenure.

“We have appointed you to these offices because we have confidence in your ability to deliver. Do not fail,” he stressed, reminding them that the appointments position them in the forefront of the University’s academic and administrative leadership.

He, therefore, encouraged them to engage actively in the workshop by asking questions, sharing experiences, and taking full advantage of the insights to be shared, so they could discharge the complex roles and responsibilities associated with their positions and contribute meaningfully to the development of the University.
