For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor, The mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).
The Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) has enjoyed many blessings during its two years of existence. 2022 has been a good year in spite of the challenges the world and the nation have experienced. The University recorded many pleasant moments, breaking new grounds in various areas of its development, thanks to the collective efforts of its internal and external stakeholders, especially, members of the Governing Council. There were a few unpleasant moments though, when we lost students, staff, and friends.
On behalf of the Governing Council and the Management of AAMUSTED, I wish to extend a belatedMerry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year to students, staff, and all other stakeholders. Management is particularly grateful for the diverse ways you contributed (as individuals and as a formidable united body) towards the pursuit of the University’s mandate.
We are very proud of the progress we made this year. Collectively, we continued in our efforts at building a solid foundation for this new University. For instance, we made remarkable progress in our ongoing Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA), which is the conduit to deliberately craft industry-required, Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET), as well as Entrepreneurial academic programmes to achieve national development. Expansion of physical infrastructure on campus saw significant progress. We strengthened and expanded our collaboration with the community, industry and, national and international agencies like GIZ.
Faculty members and our students also made us proud with their stellar performances on the global research ratings as well as the National Business Challenge, the 8th Ghana Universities Debate Championship, the 27th Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games and the Cross-Country Competition, among others.
Management is highly appreciative of all the hard work, commitment, and sacrifices which students, staff, and all other stakeholders made to achieve such height, further strengthening the near-ubiquitous status of the AAMUSTED brand.
God willing, we will all find ourselves in 2023; I pray for individual and collective good health, long life, and prosperity. We look forward to a smooth working environment in 2023, where research, teaching, and learning will thrive alongside other accomplishments like increased student numbers and improved infrastructure. WASSCE and NABTEX graduates are encouraged to submit their applications for admission.
I implore all stakeholders to brace themselves to deliver excellence in all we do as a young TVET and Entrepreneurial University to justify the confidence which the government has reposed in us with the establishment of AAMUSTED. Students and Staff must, therefore, take advantage of the Christmas break to rest, soberly reflect, and prepare to study and offer the best of service in the year(s) ahead.
I also pray for the leadership of the nation and the nations around the world, especially, the President, His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, members of Parliament, the Judiciary, Traditional Rulers, Ghana and the international community for the Good Lord to grant us good health, peace and prosperity.
Once again, I wish you a Happy Holiday Season, a blessed yuletide, and a Peaceful and Prosperous New Year.
