Students of English at the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) made their debut appearance at the 2025 Annual Literature Association of Ghana (LITAG) Conference.
The LiTAG Conference is a crucial forum for academics and students to share research, develop new ideas, and receive constructive feedback on literature and literary pedagogy. The 2025 edition was held at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) on the theme: “The Trajectory of African Literature and the Pioneering Role of the Matriarch: Aidoo in Focus.”

Dr. Jonathan Essuman, National Organiser of LITAG and leader of the AAMUSTED delegation, commended the team for their strong performance at the conference, noting that their presentations reflected the growing depth of scholarship at the University.
He noted that the MPhil students’ presentations on Ama Ata Aidoo’s works, ecocriticism, disability, and oral literature showcased AAMUSTED’s advancing scholarly reputation. He said the originality and intellectual depth of the works were widely praised, reinforcing the University’s growing presence in academia.

Another leader of the AAMUSTED delegation, Dr. Samuel Aduse-Poku of the DLE, also expressed delight at the opportunity to project the University on such a distinguished academic stage.

He highlighted the valuable networking and collaboration gained, adding that AAMUSTED aims to build on this success at the 2026 LITAG Conference at the University of Ghana (UG).
