Final-year Faculty of Environment and Health Education (FEHE) students at the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development’s (AAMUSTED) Asante Mampong Campus have completed a one-day orientation before starting their mandatory 12-month internship.

The Orientation was jointly organised by FEHE and the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) with the purpose of equipping students with knowledge of industry best practices, guiding frameworks and principles, expectations of the internship programme, and career prospects in the allied health fields.

Ultimately, it was to ensure that they were well-prepared for the potential challenges that could happen during the internships. The orientees were students pursuing Public Health Education and Environmental Health and Sanitation Education programmes at the University.

In attendance as facilitators from the AAMUSTED side were the Campus Registrar, Mr. Richard Mprah; Dean of FEHE, Prof. Dwumfour-Asare; Ing. Prof. Isaac Monney, Head, Department of Environment and Sanitation Education (DESE); and Rev. Dr. D. D. Yar, Head, Department of Public Health Education (DPHE). The rest were Faculty Officer, Mr. Atta Nyarko Okyere and other administrative staff, including Ms. Naomi Eshun, Mr. Stephen Ofori, and Mr. Kenneth Asankomah.

Mr. Clement Adjei, Head of the Kumasi Zonal Office of the AHPC led a delegation including Mr. Gideon Amponsah, Deputy Kumasi Zonal Officer and Dr. Ernest Osei, System Administrator, to the orientation.
