A Professor and an Assistant Lecturer of the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) have been appointed to two (2) of the six (6) Technical Committees of the Engineering Council Board.

Engr. Prof. Humphrey Danso, Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, serves on the Education and Training Committee (ETC), whereas Engr. Anna Amankwah-Minka, from the Department of Civil Engineering, serves as a member of the Disciplinary, Legal, and Ethics Committee (DLEC).

While the ETC works with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to develop accreditation standards and licensure requirements, the DLEC is responsible for upholding ethical conduct and handling disciplinary matters in the engineering field.

The appointments took effect on August 22, 2025, and will last for a four-year term.

At their official inauguration on August 22, 2025, the Minister for Works, Housing, and Water Resources, Mr. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, urged all Committee members to work collaboratively to achieve the Council’s regulatory mandate. He also tasked them to work hard to restore confidence in the engineering profession and ensure long-term value for public investments.

Engr. Prof. Danso expressed gratitude to the Engineering Council Board for finding him worthy of such an important appointment. He assured the Council of his commitment to contribute to the success of the ETC and the Council.

Engr. Prof. Mike Agbesi Acheampong is the Chairperson of the ETC, with members including Prof. Engr. Elsie Effah Kaufmann, Engr. Prof. Humphrey Danso, Engr. Dr. Frank Dwomoh, Engr. Seidu Adams Madina, Engr. Dr. Patrick Amoah Bekoe, and Engr. Prof. Robert Sarpong Amoah.

The DLEC also has Engr. Ebenezer Kwesi Haizel, Esq., as Chairperson, and Engr. Anna Amankwah-Minka, Engr. Mark Nyameche, Engr. Ben Debrah, Engr. David Nyante, Engr. Prince Osisiadan Anane-Acheampong, and Engr. Kingsford Daniel Laryea, as members.
