Prof. Jan Elen, an expert Educational Technologist and avid Researcher from the Centre for Instructional Psychology and Technology, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences (FPES), KU Leuven, Belgium, has arrived at the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) for a month’s research visit.
Prof. Elen will be working with the Department of Educational Leadership (DEL), Faculty of Education and Communication Sciences (FECS) of AAMUSTED, where he will participate in teaching, academic seminars and workshop presentations, graduate student mentorship, and undertake fieldwork that would lead to joint publications with faculty and graduate students of AAMUSTED.
Ahead of commencing work at AAMUSTED, Prof. Elen paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Frederick K. Sarfo, and the Management of AAMUSTED on April 2, 2024, where he was officially welcomed. In his brief welcome remarks, the Vice-Chancellor pointed to the opportunity the visit would provide to complete discussions on sustainable cooperation between FECS of AAMUSTED and the FPES of KU Leuven. He was confident that Prof. Elen’s visit would impact positively on AAMUSTED and also create an opportunity for the visited professor to learn about the Ghanaian society.
Prof. Sarfo was happy that Prof. Elen could make the time to visit AAMUSTED and assured him that the University would offer every necessary support to make his stay memorable. For his part, Prof. Elen was grateful for the warm reception he received from AAMUSTED. He emphasized the value he places on the cordial relations he has with AAMUSTED and assured the Vice-Chancellor and the Management of his readiness to offer his support to the DEL and the University during his stay.
