In the early hours of December 22, 2022, the AAMUSTED Security and the Police Patrol Team on duty detected fire outbreak at the Old Auditorium of the Kumasi Campus of the University.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) was invited to the scene. The situation was quickly brought under control, saving the University an otherwise colossal loss.

There were no casualties. The incident was limited to the Old Auditorium and part of the Transport Yard.

Students, staff, and other stakeholders would be updated on the cause of the fire and related matters when the Ghana Police and the GNFS submit their reports.

Management firmly assures stakeholders that the fire incident would not in any way disrupt planned academic and administrative activities for the 2022/2023 academic year.
