Ag. Head of Department
Welcome to the Department of Civil Engineering at Akenten Appiah-Menkah University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED). Civil Engineering is a foundational discipline that shapes the physical infrastructure of modern society from buildings, roads, and bridges to water systems and environmental protection solutions. At AAMUSTED, our Civil Engineering program is committed to producing graduates who will be future leaders in engineering education, industry, research, and sustainable infrastructure development.
The Department currently offers a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil Engineering. This full-time degree program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in engineering principles while also offering flexibility to pursue specialised areas aligned with their interests and career goals. Our curriculum integrates theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience through practical sessions, fieldwork, and project-based learning.
At the core of our Department is a vibrant research culture. Our faculty and students engage in innovative research addressing real-world challenges in structural engineering, water resources, transportation systems, geotechnical engineering, and sustainable construction. These efforts are supported by well-equipped laboratories and experienced technical staff who ensure that students gain relevant practical skills.
We are proud to foster a dynamic learning environment where academic excellence, innovation, and professional development are prioritised. Whether you aim to become a practising civil engineer, an educator, or a researcher, our Department provides the foundation and support to help you succeed.
We welcome you to explore the opportunities available in Civil Engineering at AAMUSTED.
