Associate Professor Dr. Dr. Frank Yao Gbadago is an accomplished academic and Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Practitioner by profession, widely recognized as a transformational leader, seasoned administrator, financial strategist, and governance expert with more than 25 years of experience across academia, corporate management, consulting, and financial restructuring. His distinguished career reflects a strong professorial pedigree, combining rigorous scholarship with impactful professional practice, and his influence spans Ghana, West Africa, and the global accounting and governance community.
He currently serves as an Associate Professor of Taxation, Finance and Accounting, and Head of the Department of Accounting Studies Education (DASE), Faculty of Business Education, Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), Ghana (2024–present), where he provides strategic academic leadership, drives curriculum innovation, and mentors emerging scholars. As part of his teaching portfolio, he delivers Financial Management, Taxation, Computerized Accounting, and Oil, Gas & Minerals Taxation, embedding real-world professional insights from his active practice into classroom delivery. This integration of theory and practice equips his students with practical competencies that meet both national needs and international professional standards.
At the professional level, Dr. Dr. Gbadago is an elected member of the Governing Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) (2024-present), serving as Chairman of the Technical and Research Committee, Chairman of the ICAG College Board, and Vice Chairman of the Education and Training Committee. He also serves on the Governing Council of AAMUSTED, and is an examiner for professional examining bodies, directly contributing to the development of the professional competencies of accountants and tax practitioners in Ghana. Previously, as Registrar and Governing Council Member of CITG (2020–2023), he coordinated the activities of the West African Institutes of Taxation, promoting regional collaboration in tax policy development and professional training.
He holds two PhDs (University of Cape Coast and University of Education, Winneba), alongside professional qualifications including FCA, MCITG, MIoD, PGDTLHE, and PChDip, as well as an MBA and BSc. His research interests include corporate governance, taxation policy, public sector auditing, financial reporting, and economic sustainability, with publications in Resources Policy, Humanities and Social Sciences Communication, African Journal of Economic and Management Studies, Strategy and Leadership, International Journal of Ethics and Systems, among others. In addition, he has presented scholarly papers at various international conferences.
Beyond academia, Dr. Dr. Gbadago has contributed extensively to national and international governance reforms, served on audit committees and boards, acted as an expert witness in fraud investigations, and facilitated tax colloquiums and professional workshops.
