Dr. Adasa Nkrumah Kofi Frimpong is a lecturer in Information Technology and the current acting Head of Department, Academic and Administrative Computing, under the IT Service Directorate, of the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED). He manages computing infrastructure, including the university’s Learning Management System (LMS). He is a distinguished teacher and had his foundational education in Ghana and abroad between 2003 – 2020. He has over eleven years’ experience in university administration and teaching.
He is a distinguished figure in Information Technology Education. He served on the recent Ghana Ministry of Education National Education Forum Stakeholders’ Engagement, Quality Assure and Supervisor of the 2024 National Service Scheme (NSS) Pedagogy Training and the National Teaching Council (NTC) Preparation Meeting and Facilitators Training by the NTC in Collaboration with the NSS and the Ghana Education Service (GES) with support from the Transforming Teaching, Education and Learning (T-TEL). He also served on the Review of General Pedagogy Manual for Untrained Teachers in Ghana by the NTC, NSS, and GES. He is a member and a key contributor on the Special Postgraduate Diploma in Education for NSS in Ghana.
Adasa continues to make significant strides in Education as a recognized participant of the Annual General Meeting of the Ghanaian Academic and Research Network (GARNET). He is a key member of UNESCO, Microsoft, and Tablet Academy’s Digital Skills Development and Capacity Building Programme for AAMUSTED, serving as Master Teacher Trainer (MTT). He has also served as Chief Examiner in Information Technology Education for several tertiary institutions in Ghana, including the AAMUSTED Colleges of Education Affiliate institutions. He has a wealth of experience in Test Item-Writing and Moderation for several tertiary institutions, like the Jackson University College.
As a member of the OSIS Committee, he played a significant role in seeing to the migration of students’ results from the erstwhile University of Education, Winneba (UEW) to the AAMUSTED Students’ Information System. Dr. Adasa Nkrumah Kofi Frimpong has several seminal researches with top publications indexed in the Web of Science, Scopus, etc. He is a reviewer for top international journals including IEEE Access, Electronic Commerce Research, SAGEOpen, Financial Innovation, etc.
Adasa was seconded as the first Teaching Assistant in the Department of Information Technology Education, University of Education, Winneba, Kumasi Campus, now AAMUSTED, then as a lecturer and Head of Department, Department of Information and Communications Technology at the Christ Apostolic University College (CAUC) – Kumasi – Ghana. He was also a lecturer at the Business School of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). Again, he was a researcher at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland, Switzerland. And also worked at the International Students Section of the School of Management and Economics, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC).
As a distinguished university lecturer, he has taught several courses at the postgraduate and undergraduate levels. Selected courses include Data Mining and Data Ware Housing, Data Communications and Networking, Cybercrime Prevention & Protection, Cyber Intelligence and Forensics Analysis, Electronic Commerce, Electronic Business, Emerging Trends in Information Technology, Application of Technology in Education, and many more.
Dr. Adasa received his PhD in Management Science and Engineering (Data Mining and E-Business) from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) in 2020. He holds Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Information Technology from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana, Master of Science (MSc.) Business Information System from the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland, Switzerland, and Master of Science (MSc.) Computer Science from the University of Camerino, Italy. He completed his Bachelor of Education (BEd.- Honors) in Information Technology from the University of Education, Winneba, Ghana.
