Students of the Department of Information Technology Education (DITE) under the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Mathematics Education (FASME) at the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) have donated electronic sound amplification equipment valued at GHS40,000.00 to the University.
The students, through their Association, Information Technology Students’ Society (INFOTESS), presented fifteen (15) sets of AKAI Portable Hi-Fi speakers and seventeen (17) microphones as their contribution towards improving instructional resources for effective academic delivery in the University.
Receiving the gadgets on behalf of Management of the University, on February 13, 2026, the Dean of FASME, Prof. Yarhands Dissou Arthur, highly commended members of INFOTESS for their thoughtful gesture. He described the equipment as a valuable addition to the instructional resources of the University and gave them the assurance that the University would use them to the benefit of the students.

However, he cautioned against the tendency of some students to mishandle university property, and urged the members of INFOTESS to take keen interest in safeguarding the equipment from early destruction to support teaching and learning.
Prof. Arthur commended the Patrons of INFOTESS for their visionary leadership and guidance, expressing the hope that the Patrons of the Association Mathematics Education Students (AMES), the other student body under FASME, would emulate the initiative of INFOTESS to get AMES to support the Faculty and the University.
The President of INFOTESS, Mr. Stephen Dela Dunyo, was happy that the Society was able to contribute its widow’s mite to the development of AAMUSTED. In his view, the donation was partly to attend to the felt need of students who usually attended large class lectures.

He assured that the Society would keep looking for ways to support the University, especially in areas that improve teaching and learning.

The Head of DITE, Dr. Joshua Caleb Dagadu, added his voice to appeals for users of the equipment to ensure their proper care. He suggested that lecturers implement a stringent supervision and reporting mechanism in that regard.
