Welcome to the Accreditation Section at AAMUSTED! Our section coordinates activities of the accreditation processes in the University to promote quality assurance and continuous quality enhancement in the core activities and operations of the University
The major role of the Accreditation Section is to provide support and oversight responsibility of the accreditation of the University as a public institution, and its constituent campuses as well as all academic programmes run by the University in its quest to provide higher education in technical, vocational, and entrepreneurial training to develop skilled manpower for job creation and economic development.

The Accreditation Section was established as a functional unit under the Directorate of Quality Assurance, Planning and Accreditation of the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development to coordinate activities of the accreditation processes in the University to promote quality assurance and continuous quality enhancement in the core activities and operations of the University.
The major role of the Accreditation Section is to provide support and oversight responsibility of the accreditation of the University as a public institution, and its constituent campuses as well as all academic programmes run by the University in its quest to provide higher education in technical, vocational, and entrepreneurial training to develop skilled manpower for job creation and economic development.
The office works in liaison with the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Deans of Faculty, and Heads of Department to introduce new market-driven programmes, and to ensure that existing programmes are reviewed and accredited regularly to meet quality standards, align with the vision of the University and in compliance with international benchmarks to make the programmes relevant for economic development and to meet national needs.
In addition to the key functions enumerated above, the Accreditation Section also provides the following services among others:
- Preparing and assisting departments to go through external accreditation by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC);
- Managing student and staff data and organising them for GTEC and other stakeholders;
- Monitoring the strategic planning activities of the University, faculties and departments to inform advice and recommendations to Management;
- Organising annual exit surveys of graduating students and periodically undertaking tracer and employer surveys;
- Keeping and maintaining a database on accreditation status of programmes run by the University;
- Keeping and maintaining a database on affiliated institutions, linkages, collaborations and service agreements established with corporate institutions/entities and other professional bodies; and
- Coordinating and monitoring institutional planning to ensure efficiency and delivery of quality service in University activities.
