Dr. Sherry Kwabla Amedorme is currently the Head of Department and has taught mechanical and automotive engineering courses for many years. He obtained BSc and MSc in Mechanical Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University Science and Technology, Kumasi and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Leeds, UK. In addition, he holds a Certificate in Education from the University Education, Winneba as well as Motor Vehicle Technicians III Certificate with distinctions from Accra Polytechnic. Mr. Amedorme worked with the Ghana Prisons Service as Assistant Superintendent of Prisons (ASP) in charge of vehicle repairs and servicing workshop.
He served as a Demonstrator in the Department of Mechanical Engineering KNUST assisting in teaching automotive and mechanical-related courses. His research focus is on the application of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to the systems of motor vehicle and mechanical technology. Some of the industrial commercial CFD software and other packages that he uses are STAR-CCM+, ANSYS FLUENT, GT-POWER and RICARDO WAVE for automotive engines and systems modeling. He also uses Solidworks for his CAD modelling and Abaqus for finite element analysis. Dr. S. K. Amedorme has over 20 publications in high impact factor journals and a member of Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and Ghana Institution of Engineers (GhIE).
